Easter was a relaxing day for us - mostly. The weather was supposed to be sunny and warm so I rode the murdercycle to the church for the first of the two services that the choir was singing. Between services one of the ladies that works in the Family Kitchen (they provide meals for the needy) fixed breakfast for the choir and the Rector so I had a chance to talk with the her (the Rector) for a while about some of the things going on in the church office where I work part time.
After breakfast I noticed that it was cloudy with a little moisture in the air and realized that I had not packed my protective pants in the saddlebags of the mudercycle. I don't normally where them for short rides in the city, but if the road was going to be slick I definitely wanted them on, so called Helen to ask her to bring them when she came to the 2nd service.
After the second service it was, of course, cloudy with a little drizzle in the air - but not as bad as for the yard work. (More on that later).
The afternoon was spent in conversation and food shared with good friends - always a great combination.
BO
In regard to Bo - just threw that in for the ____ of it as enough has been said already.
Yard Work
As some (are most) are aware we left a rather large yard at our home in Leawood for a smaller yard, and allegedly less work, here in Bend. So to prove just how much work there can be even in a smaller yard we ordered 15 cubic yards of mulch to "refresh" the beds around the yard.
When we purchased the mulch the weather report was for sun and temperatures in the 50's. In Bend that doesn't mean much as the weather can shift a LOT in a few days. Anyway yesterday when the first of two loads where delivered it was 35 degrees and overcast.
Here is part of the first delivery sitting on the driveway:
And Ms. Helen performing her yard duties:
A short time later snow! Note that, even though you cannot see it, it looks just like the little beads of Styrofoam use to pack things in boxes!
As you might expect we did NOT finish the job yesterday. Today we are waiting for the sun to melt the snow so that we can get back at it!
